PERIMETER RECORDS ANNOUNCES RELEASE OF DEBUT ALBUM BY NYC HARD-ROCKERS

 

Dogz of Zeus, the self-titled debut album was released October 27^th by Perimeter Records. The first single “False Profit” reflects upon the greed of Wall Street.

The third artist signed to Perimeter Records has released a hard rock album that brings back true rock to New York City.

 

2010 was the year that Eddie Shiffler (ex-Keyser Soze, Dangerous Ones)  Mark Bohrer (ex-Grannie, Goat Singer, Boot Pie) Tony Roina (ex-Hip Joint Chamber, Naked City, Boot Pie) and Tyler Land (ex-Grannie, Naked City, Boot Pie) came together and became Dogz of Zeus. The Dogz then recorded an EP titled “In the Name of Dog” and re-enlisted with long-time engineer/producer Jamey Staub. (Public Enemy, Everlast, Beastie Boys, Roy Ayers,  A Tribe Called Quest) to name a few. The excitement from the EP prompted the band to sign as an artist with Perimeter Records. Says Staub “I’d worked with Grannie and Boot Pie over the years, but the first time I heard this lineup, I knew there was magic in the sound and intent, and I had to work with them again.” This led to a full length album release that unleashed the rawness and power that the band produces. The songs address today’s issues as well as occult mysteries of the past. In the first single, “False Profit,” singer Eddie Shiffler  exclaims “The market’s gonna crash on your false profit!” a theme that should resound with Occupation Wall Street. In the closing song of the album “Occupied,”  Eddie writes “I got room for all of the gold. I got more than one man can hold. When you reach the top of the world. Such a lonely feeling.,”  a reference to the greed and selfishness of large corporations and CEOs. In “Nephilim” the band explores through eerie chord progressions and sounds, vocal references to past, the existence of the ancient race of Alien/Egyptian hybrids.

 

With the raw power of their sound, and enigmatic stage theatrics, Dogz of Zeus is quickly becoming one of the most intense and entertaining live bands in New York City. Their CD release party at Tammany Hall in New York was a huge success with fellow bands Full Circle, Oxana and Bones Howell performing for a full house.
